The City of Willowick is part of the Willoughby-Eastlake City Public School District. The district has two high schools (North and South) located in Eastlake and Willoughby, respectively. Royalview Elementary School and Willowick Middle School are located in Willowick, and currently have 1,263 students between the two.

Lakeland Community College was founded in 1967 to make higher education accessible to all members of the community. With approximately 13,000 full and part-time students attending annually, more than half of which are employed, Lakeland continually develops classes and programs to meet the needs of students, employers and the community as a whole. Lake Erie College is a small liberal arts school dedicated to a personalized and dedicated learning experience. Located in Painesville, Lake Erie College offers a variety of undergraduate degrees as well as graduate degrees in education and business management.
