ADA Compliance Grievance Procedures

In the event you have a grievance under Title II of ADA, the ADA Coordinator shall be contacted to review and determine a fair assessment and resolution for the grievance. Standard procedure for this is detailed below:

  • Contact the ADA Coordinator with a written (via email) complaint stating the nature of the grievance, when it occurred or was observed, where the grievance is located, and any additional comments to why there is a potential ADA compliance issue.
  • The ADA Coordinator will review and respond within 72 hours with an initial response on how the City plans to investigate and when the findings of the investigation can be expected to be finalized. Investigations and findings can be expected to take no more than ten (10) business days once an investigation is initiated.
  • The ADA Coordinator will coordinate with the City and/or property owner to resolve the issue if necessary. Any and all resolutions for ADA compliance shall be in accordance with ODOT standards and ADA guidelines.
  • If complainant does not agree with the initial assessment and/or proposed resolution provided by the ADA Coordinator and/or City, an appeal may be filed within five (5) business days of receiving. The City will review and provide a formal response with detailed reasoning for initial judgements and if there will be any modifications to original resolution.
